In the wake of the recent shootings that took the lives of 8 individuals in Atlanta, GA – six of which were Asian American women – in addition to the increasing violence and hate crimes committed against the AAPI community, Mental Health Connecticut condemns these acts and stands with the Asian American Pacific Islander community.

We recognize that combatting racism and inequity is an ongoing commitment to society and a lifelong practice. Racism is a public health crisis and therefore has a negative impact on the mental health of communities. As we continue to grieve the loss of these individuals, we also extend our support to those in need at this time.
