In 1908, our founder, Clifford W. Beers established the Connecticut Society for Mental Hygiene in order to combat discrimination against individuals with mental health conditions, to better advocate for their rights and dignities, and begin an organization that has grown to serve nearly 1,000 individuals a day through person centered care, advocacy, and community education. With facilities in six regions of the state, over 200 employees, and the potential to reach every individual across the state, the staff and volunteers of Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) continue to work to ensure every Connecticut resident has access to the services and supports they need to achieve overall health and wellness.
MHC partners with individuals, their families, and the surrounding communities to create environments that support long-term health and wellness. We measure success by our ability to help individuals obtain a safe home, achieve whole health, realize a meaningful purpose, and develop connections in the community. With your support, MHC can continue to expand its impact across the state and help others reach their personal goals for wellness.

Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) currently has open positions on its Development Committee. We are seeking individuals who are interested in learning and applying skills in relationship building, community engagement, marketing, promotion, social media, events, and fundraising.
Individuals will be asked to attend monthly meetings and sign up for various volunteering tasks and activities that are based on their interest level and time commitment. The members of the Development Committee not only support the mission and vision of MHC, but create yearly personal goals and identify contributions that will result in their individual development and growth.

together, we are making a difference
We value the support of each and every donor and fundraiser. Thanks to you, we are able to provide the necessary wellness programs for our program participants that help to build life skills that create independence and confidence, create new ways of coping with trauma and day to day obstacles, and collaborate on personalized methods of healing that will aid in the recovery process.
Thanks to you, we are able to continue expanding our offerings to the community to spread awareness and education for individuals from all walks of life about the importance of mental health and wellness. Every dollar raised is an opportunity for us to do more for each other, support our goals for wellness, and improve a little more each and every day. Together, we are making a difference.
