Scott BrabantWest Hartford, CT – Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Brabant as Chair of the MHC Board of Directors. Mr. Brabant joined the Board of Directors of MHC in 2015.

“I am excited and humbled to be selected as MHC’s Board Chair, building upon the great leadership and inspiration from my predecessors,” Brabant said. “I continue to be amazed by the countless and selfless efforts of the MHC staff and its community partners to support recovery and mental health wellness in this, our 113th year.”

Mr. Brabant is a First Vice President with People’s United Bank, working in the Business Transformation Office, specifically focused on modernizing the Bank’s systems and improving the customer and employee experience. He has been with People’s United Bank since 2015, most of his tenure serving as Chief Financial Officer of People’s United Insurance Agency which was sold to Assured Partners in 2020.

Since joining MHC’s Board, Mr. Brabant has served in various officer capacities including Treasurer and Vice Chairperson, and has served on the Governance, Finance, and Executive Committees. He assumed the role of Board Chair effective January 2021. He previously served as Treasurer of the Center for Children’s Advocacy from 2015 through 2018, in addition to serving on the Board at Mental Health Connecticut.

Mr. Brabant received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Investments from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. A native of Massachusetts, he has lived in Connecticut since 1995 with his wife and three children.
