FCP Euro Volunteers Help Create MHC Wellness Program Welcome Kits

By: Amy Smith, MHC’s Mending Art Coordinator

MHC’s Wellness Programs help individuals learn new skills, engage in the community, and find and utilize creative outlets of expression to connect with oneself and the community. As MHC works on the expansion of our wellness program offerings, we have been working to ensure that all of our participants are familiar with the many opportunities they are invited to explore. MHC has set forth to get the word out to each and reach every one of its participants by creating Wellness Program Welcome Kits.

The Wellness Program Welcome Kits will provide MHC participants with a welcome introduction to our wellness programs, a few fun items to help spark creative ideas, and a little inspiration to assist them in taking the next steps towards engaging in these wonderful programs. Over the coming year we will be able to provide each and every one of our MHC participants a chance to connect, learn and grow with the wellness programs of interest to them.

Thanks to the amazing volunteers at FCP Euro who generously donated their time to help, we were able to put together the first 463 Wellness Program Welcome Kits!

“I choose to volunteer and build kits for people so they can express themselves in the form of art and writing. These two simple art forms are a great method of creating a personal masterpiece and sharing it with their friends and family. I wanted to be a part of supporting people that are taking steps in improving their mental health and possibly forming a lifelong hobby around art and writing.”  -Iris Matheny, Safety Specialist

“Mental health is a cause that is valued highly by FCP Euro as an organization and by our employees as individuals. While we work internally to support the mental wellness of our workplace through our partnership with the MHC Collaborative, it was important to us to support the mental health initiatives happening in our local community and throughout Connecticut as well. It was great to see our employees come together and support this cause by creating these wellness welcome kits for individuals receiving the support they need from MHC.” -Nicole Batista, Wellness Manager

“I am always happy to volunteer my time and help out a little! I love doing this especially when it helps others because it gives me a chance to give back as well.” – Blazej Bielawski, DC Associate

Time is running out to support our Winter Wellness Campaign! Your donation helps us provide essential mental health resources and expand access to care for individuals in need. Let’s come together to ensure no one has to face winter’s challenges alone.

While our Winter Wellness Campaign is coming to a close, our toolkit will be available on our website all winter long as we continue to embrace warmth, connection, and wellness.

This year’s Winter Wellness with MHC campaign is focused on giving mental health resources and support to communities throughout Connecticut.

Your donation will support the Mental Health Concierge sliding scale, enabling us to provide flexible mental health services to individuals in need throughout the state.

Your donation will enable us to provide mental health services, including therapy, in-home support, and case management, to low-income individuals and individuals experiencing homelessness.
