Winter Wellness with MHC

For many in our community, the winter months can be particularly tough. Mental Health Connecticut’s (MHC) Winter Wellness campaign is focused on improving well-being during the winter season and ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or identity, has access to the mental health resources they need. In December, we will release the second edition of our free, digital Winter Wellness Toolkit with information, tips, and resources to support individuals and families.

Ensuring Equitable Access to Mental Health Care

Why Support Winter Wellness with MHC?

Winter brings a unique set of mental health challenges, from Seasonal Affective Disorder, which affects 5% of the population, to the isolation caused by shorter, colder days, to the 89% of U.S. adults who experience stress during the holiday season. To help individuals and families navigate these difficulties, MHC offers a free Winter Wellness Toolkit, packed with practical tips, resources, and strategies to support emotional well-being all season long.

Winter Wellness Toolkit

MHC will release the second edition of our free, digital Winter Wellness Toolkit in December 2025. The toolkit will include mental health resources for the holiday season, seasonal affective disorder, loneliness, and more.

Bring Mental Health First Aid to Your Community

In an effort to empower individuals to support each other and to improve mental health, MHC is encouraging organizations to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to their staff and community. MHFA teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.

Start a Fundraiser

Net proceeds from the Winter Wellness with MHC campaign will directly support Mental Health Connecticut’s essential services, educational initiatives, and advocacy efforts, advancing our mission to make mental health care accessible to all. From delivering free behavioral health support and expanding access through Art of Wellbeing workshops, to providing nutritious meals at the Independence Center, your support powers the critical care that transforms lives across Connecticut.

Time is running out to support our Winter Wellness Campaign! Your donation helps us provide essential mental health resources and expand access to care for individuals in need. Let’s come together to ensure no one has to face winter’s challenges alone.

While our Winter Wellness Campaign is coming to a close, our toolkit will be available on our website all winter long as we continue to embrace warmth, connection, and wellness.

This year’s Winter Wellness with MHC campaign is focused on giving mental health resources and support to communities throughout Connecticut.

Your donation will support the Mental Health Concierge sliding scale, enabling us to provide flexible mental health services to individuals in need throughout the state.

Your donation will enable us to provide mental health services, including therapy, in-home support, and case management, to low-income individuals and individuals experiencing homelessness.
