We practice mindfulness for our own mental health AND we practice for the world. We practice so we can see clearly what is happening in our lives and in our communities. We practice being with the joys AND the sorrows of life so we don’t need to numb ourselves to life’s hardships. We practice mindfulness to show up to our lives as fully as we can. We practice to stay with the vulnerable work of healing our pain so we minimize the harm we pass on to others. We practice to learn to smile at our imperfection and recover a spirit of play so we don’t take ourselves quite so seriously all the time. We practice to learn how to be more fully ourselves, without needing to edit ourselves or make ourselves small so we don’t offend or encounter criticism. We practice to learn to welcome help and support from others because we don’t have to make this journey alone. If these lessons are the lessons you need, then we warmly invite you to join the Copper Beech Institute circle of learning, expanding, and loving. It would be an honor for us to practice with you and learn from your experience.

Inviting Peace, Meditation and Mental Health
In this conversation, the host, Gabriela, will share her experience as a mindfulness practitioner who lives with chronic mental illness and offer practices that have often been more accessible to her than conventional breath-based meditation.
