Mental Health Connecticut Honored as a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplace

During the recent snowstorm, Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) staff stepped up in extraordinary ways, ensuring the safety and continuity of care for the people and families we serve. Their dedication, flexibility, and compassion reflect the heart of our mission, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to our communities every day.

With the same sense of gratitude and pride, we are thrilled to share wonderful news: Mental Health Connecticut has been named a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award winner.

This national honor marks MHC’s second consecutive year of receiving the USA TODAY Top Workplaces designation and comes alongside recognition from the Hartford Courant as a Top Workplace in both 2025 and 2026, as well as a Nonprofit Industry Award. Together, these accolades underscore the strength of our people-first culture and the incredible team behind our programs and services.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it is driven entirely by employee feedback. The Top Workplaces awards are based on confidential surveys conducted by Energage, the HR research and technology company that has partnered with organizations nationwide since 2006. Employees are asked about key workplace experience themes, such as feeling supported, valued, and empowered. Research shows that these are strong indicators of healthy, high-performing organizations.

The 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award honors organizations with 150 or more employees that foster exceptional workplace cultures built on listening and engagement. This year, more than 42,000 organizations across the country were invited to participate, making this recognition a powerful testament to MHC’s commitment to its staff, and, by extension, to the individuals and families who rely on our services.

To our supporters, donors, and community partners: thank you for making this possible. Your belief in Mental Health Connecticut helps create the environment where our teams can thrive and where high-quality, compassionate care can reach those who need it most.

We are proud to share this milestone with you and grateful to have you by our side as we move forward together.

Time is running out to support our Winter Wellness Campaign! Your donation helps us provide essential mental health resources and expand access to care for individuals in need. Let’s come together to ensure no one has to face winter’s challenges alone.

While our Winter Wellness Campaign is coming to a close, our toolkit will be available on our website all winter long as we continue to embrace warmth, connection, and wellness.

Across the country, nonprofits are being stretched to their limits. But the need? It hasn’t gone anywhere. Your donation today, may be the housing referral that helps someone get through another week. The in-home mental health support that keeps someone safe. The only meal they’ll eat all day. The difference between crisis or care. Every dollar changes lives. Every dollar is a lifeline.

Your donation will enable us to provide mental health services, including therapy, in-home support, and case management, to low-income individuals and individuals experiencing homelessness.
