#LetsFaceIt the core of our community’s support springs from the kindness and generosity of its own members.
We are feeling extra grateful this #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth for the amazing donors and supporters of our #LetsFaceIt campaign, helping to support MHC’s mission of partnering with individuals, families, and communities to create environments that support long-term health and wellness.
This week we are shouting out a big thank you to our Silver Sponsors: DATTCO, Liberty Bank, Lockton, and Wells Fargo.

Thank you to Liberty Bank:
Liberty Bank, Connecticut’s oldest bank headquartered in Middletown, has joined us as a silver sponsor this year to support MHC’s #LetsFaceIt campaign.
The relationship between MHC and Liberty Bank began in 2018 when Chandler J. Howard, President and CEO of Liberty Bank, presented a $5,000 check to Luis Pérez, President and CEO of Mental Health Connecticut.
Joining together in Be Community Kind to break down barriers and support our neighbors during Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond.
“At Liberty, we are proud to join the national movement in raising critical awareness about mental health. With our partners and teammates, our goal is to help put an end to the stigma, provide support, increase education and advocate for providing the tools that those with mental illness and their families need. We stand together, unified, in good times and in bad. We fight for what’s right and for the well-being of our customers, teammates and communities. In May and year-round, it’s important to highlight what individuals can do throughout their daily lives to prioritize mental health, build resiliency, and overcome obstacles. That’s why we are honored to support Mental Health Connecticut and the important work they do every day.”
Liberty Bank’s contribution directly supported MHC’s ‘Write On!’ program, a creative writing and advocacy initiative aimed at helping young adults find their voice and articulate their truth. Throughout its footprint, Liberty Bank is committed to giving back to non-profits that focus on providing children and families with access to quality services. This commitment is evident through donations from the Bank and its Foundation, and a work environment dedicated to volunteerism.
In 2023, Jackie Davis, MHC’s Director of Workplace Mental Health & DEI, threw the first pitch at the Yard Goats game as part of the Hartford Yard Goats & Liberty Bank Community Kindness Heroes Program, which honors individuals working in the realm of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.
Thank you, Liberty bank, for the partnership and support!
