Lieutenant Governor Bysiewicz Visits MHC’s Independence Center

On Friday, December 9th, Mental Health CT (MHC) had the pleasure of hosting Lieutenant Governor Bysiewicz for a site visit at the Independence Center (IC) in Waterbury. Joined by MHC Board President, Scott Brabant, the Lt. Governor was able learn a lot about the many great programs and services offered through the IC. During the visit, she got to see participants enjoying our Mending Arts program and was gifted a beautiful painting by a participant. The visit allowed the IC staff to raise awareness about the many different ways the IC benefits the community and the resources necessary to continue to provide these critical services.

We want to thank the Lt. Governor and her team for taking the time to visit the IC and getting to know our valued staff and program participants. MHC looks forward to working closely with the Lt. Governor’s office during the upcoming legislative session to ensure behavioral health remains a priority in Connecticut.
