Mending Art Joined Litchfield Hills Creative Festival

On August 14th, hundreds of people came out to enjoy the first ever Litchfield Hills Creative Festival! The festival included a Local Art Fair at Franklin Plaza, live outdoor music at Coe Park (sponsored by Red Room Sound Studio & the Warner Theatre), open artist studios, theatre performances, circus and movement, book signings, delicious food and more.

This event was a community collaboration organized by the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council to celebrate local creativity. MHC’s Mending Art program worked with the community on two large canvas and spread the word that art is part of our wellbeing. “A great big thank you to everyone who participated in this wonderful event and all those who shared your artwork on our community paintings! It was an incredibly inspiring weekend,” said Amy Smith, Mending Art Extraordinaire.
