Mother’s Day

May 12, 2019 all-day

Did you know that the American incarnation of Mother’s Day was in 1908 – that same year MHC was founded! Celebrating mothers has been a tradition that can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans who honored the mother goddesses Cybele and Rhea.

This Mother’s Day – we want to encourage you to join us in making a Wellness Wish to your mom (or a mother figure you wish to honor on this special day). Share them on social media by commenting on our posts or share with #WellnessWish and tag @mentalhealthCT so we can share in all Wellness Wishes of the day!

“Mother – that one word that cannot be defined in a single phrase; that one word that embodies all the love a human being could possibly offer. A mother is not just someone who gave birth to a child. If you ask me, a mother represents the combination of feelings, behaviors and sacrifices that occur while raising a child, whether the child is biologically hers or not.”
